Ibanez Pia – One of the first pieces I did.
Steve Vai is a guitarist and composer whose signature Ibanez JEM and PIA instruments have shaped what a modern electric guitar looks like. He came up through Frank Zappa's band, spent years with David Lee Roth and Whitesnake, and built a solo catalog anchored by Passion and Warfare.
The studio's earliest work includes a blue floral PIA finished for him, and Vai's encouragement is part of why Bonvillain Design Studio exists at all. That thread runs through to the PIA77BON – a limited factory run with Ibanez, under 200 units, that put a Bonvillain finish on a production line for the first time.
