Yvette Young

Yvette Young is a guitarist and composer best known for the math-rock trio Covet, where a two-handed tapping style built an audience well past instrumental rock. She trained on piano and violin before guitar, and she is a working visual artist – which is a large part of why this particular collaboration reads the way it does.

The studio finished a vintage Ibanez Talman for her, then returned to the palette with a jade, emerald and malachite stone treatment. Both were largely improvised – no sketch, no approval pass – and they remain the pieces the shop points to when explaining what one-of-one actually means.
